Is it normal for the matron of honor to have this many pre-wedding jitters? I do not have an ounce of nervous jitters. Only the excited ones. The really excited ones. Because on Saturday, my little sister is going to be married to an amazing young man. Just as I believe Nathanael is the best suitor out there for my crazy self, I think Josiah is the other half of my sister. Where Jenni is strong, Josiah accepts her help. And where Josiah has strength, Jenni welcomes his input. To watch these two grow up together and grow together has been one of the biggest blessings of my life.
Though I know my father will be the one walking Jenni down the aisle to give her away to Josiah, I will be giving her away as well. And if you are in attendance at the wedding, I am confident you will see me cry at that moment. (Don't judge me. I'm, with child.) Jenni is the most beautiful, loyal, and amusing girl I know. She and I share more than a maiden name. We share a lifetime of memories together.
She watched Nathanael waltz into my life, sweep me off my feet, and marry me with the same feelings I have had watching Josiah charm her, I am sure. And just as she has done with my husband, I vow to welcome Josiah into our family (if it is possible be more a part of it than he already is) and happily include him in our future memory-making adventures.
So to Jenni and Josiah, don't forget me. Josiah, that is my best friend for life you're marrying. I know you will take better care of her than any other eligible suitor could. Jenni, I love you more than you know.
Welcome to my heart, Josiah and Jenni Zimmerman. I can hardly wait to share marriage and parenting struggles, successes, and stories with you in the coming years. Happy wedding.
Very sweet post!
